Why this site exists
Skin tags occupy an awkward gap in the medical system. They're benign, so insurance calls removal "cosmetic" and won't pay. They're annoying — they catch on razors, necklaces, and bra straps — so people want them gone. And into that gap has rushed a market of over-the-counter "remover" serums and freeze kits, despite the FDA having approved zero over-the-counter drugs for skin tag removal and having sent warning letters that got major serums delisted from Amazon.
The honest answer has always been boring: a licensed professional removes a skin tag, numbed and sterile, in about two minutes. The hard parts are finding a practice that treats a cosmetic-but-real concern seriously, and knowing what it will cost before you're sitting in the exam room. That's the entire job of this site.
