We’ve researched many products and have sought to identify what does and doesn’t work.  One natural skin tag treatment that we’ve found that works is Australian tea tree oil. We recommend this treatment because it’s one of the very few natural ways to treat skin tags that gets the job done!

Many natural products that remove skin tags contain essential oils.  These oils are completely natural, and come from the barks of trees and leaves of plants that have been used for hundreds of years for skin ailments.  Tea tree oil is one of the best, as it has many healing properties that will cause skin tags to fall off naturally, with no side effects whatsoever.

In this post, we will talk about the the most popular natural ways for getting rid of their skin tags.  We have listed different things that people have tried, and we will share with you some of the results that people are seeing with each method of treatment.

How to Lose Skin Tags Naturally

When it comes to healing a skin growth, natural methods are a safer option.  People of any age can use them without having to worry about any side effects.  Also, ingredients taken directly from nature have powerful healing properties, hence the reason that they’re used in many of the best over-the-counter skin tag removers.

These include the ability to heal the skin fast, eliminating the need for another product to get rid of skin tag scars after it is gone.

The list below are things that people have used to remove skin tags.  Some work and some don’t work at all.  Also, you will find that when one treatment works well for some people, it may not work at all for others.

The one ingredient that we have found that works incredibly well is Australian tea tree oil..  It is very potent, and has the ability to not only rid you of a tag, or tags, but also to heal the skin at the same time.

Top 10 Natural Ways to Get Rid of Skin Tags

1. Tea tree oil

We think highly of this essential oil because we know that it is very effective.  It is one of the best and quickest ways of naturally removing skin tags.  It is safe for anyone to use, and it won’t harm the surrounding skin.

Make sure that the oil says 100% therapeutic tea tree oil.  One of the best brands to use is Apothecary Tea Tree Oil.  You can read more about it in our review by clicking on the link.

Tea tree oil has natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties, as well as other skin healing abilities, which allow your skin to heal faster.  This means that the risk of scarring or other marking is minimal.

It doesn’t cause any burning sensation or discomfort as some other treatments can.  It also can’t get much easier to use.  You just put some on a cotton swab, such as a Q-tip, and apply it to the tag a few times a day.  If the tag is very small, you can use a toothpick instead. For best results, we recommend soaking some cotton wool in tea tree oil and covering it with a bandage. Perhaps you could this while you sleep.

As it is a natural product, it will take a little bit longer that a product made with chemicals, but it is well worth it.  You will notice that the tag is getting darker, which only means that the blood and oxygen supply has been cut off.  Very soon after that happens, the skin tag will fall off on its own, and there will be no marks whatsoever when it does.

There is also another tea tree oil that works well.  It is called Bael Wellness Tea Tree Oil.  You can read about this essential oil in this review by clicking the link.

The use of some other essential oils are also effective at getting rid of skin tags naturally.  Besides Tea tree oil, the following work pretty well.

2. Frankincense Oil

If you want to try frankincense oil for skin tags, make sure that you buy 100% therapeutic grade oil, not the kind that is used for aroma therapy.  As this is a potent oil, it is best to mix it with another oil, such as castor oil.  This won’t lessen the effectiveness, and it will actually add to the healing ability.

To use it, all that you have to do is to mix the two oils well, and apply the mixture directly to the skin tag with a small cotton swab twice daily.  The best times are morning and before you go to bed at night.  After you apply the oils, it is recommended to put an adhesive bandage over it.  It does take longer than tea tree oil to work, though.  With daily use, you should see results in two to three months.

This essential oil has natural healing properties that regenerate new skin.  It has special nutrients in it that will kill the tag, with no pain or discomfort, and will work to heal the skin after the skin tag falls off.

Although it works well, you should not use it on children, or if you are pregnant or nursing.  There has not been enough clinical research on it yet to say if it goes into the bloodstream or not.

3. Oregano Oil

Another effective essential oil is Oregano oil.  It has natural skin healing properties that are antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-melomic, and more.

When you use this oil correctly and diligently, your skin tag should be gone within a month or two.

To use this as a natural skin tag remover, you should mix is with coconut oil, or anther essential oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil.  These give more power to the oregano oil, enabling it to kill the skin tag fast.

Make a mixture with 3 drops of Oregano oil and 6 drops of coconut, olive, or jojoba oil.  Apply the oil mixture to that tag, or tags, 3 times a day.

You should not use this mixture on or around the eyes, as it may sting.  This works well on small tags, but it takes longer on big skin tags.  If you have bigger skin tags, we recommend using tea tree oil, as listed above.

4. Bloodroot

The juice from this plant is very powerful, so you have to be careful when using it.  It is considered by herbalists to be a toxin, but many people use it to get rid of a skin tag.

You can buy it in paste form, or powder, but in this case it is best to use it as a paste.

We would suggest that you put a thin coating of petroleum jelly on the surrounding skin, being careful not to touch the tag itself, especially the base of it, where it meets the skin. You can apply it with a small cotton swab or toothpick to the tag, and cover it with an adhesive bandage.

Although tea tree oil takes a bit longer, we suggest the use of that over bloodroot.  It is much safer, is not toxic, and leaves no markings behind, whether or not it accidentally gets on the surrounding skin.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

You probably already have this in your pantry, as many people cook with it.  It is used for many things, and removing skin tags is just one of them.  The reason it is believed to work is because apple cider vinegar contains natural acids that have the ability to effectively remove skin tags.

It is used for many other skin ailments, as well, because it contains alpha Hydroxy acid, and acidic acid.  These natural acids, along with the other natural vitamins and minerals that it contains, are ‘considered’ to be effective for healing the skin.  It will also work to allow new skin cells to regenerate faster, leaving no hint of a skin tag behind.

Using this is also very easy.  Soak a cotton ball, or swab, with the vinegar and squeeze out the excess.  Put it on you tag, or tags, and leave it in place.  Do this up to 3 times a day.

Because of the natural acids in it, it can sting or become itchy where it is applied.  If your skin is sensitive, dilute it with water.

6. Vitamin E Capsules

Vitamin E is very good for the skin. To use it, buy high quality vitamin E capsules.  Break one open and put the liquid onto the tag itself.  Because it is not strong, it doesn’t matter if it gets on the surrounding skin.  After the liquid is applied, cover it with an adhesive bandage.  This will keep the liquid from coming off of the tag.

This process aims to cut off the blood supply while the vitamin E heals the skin.  The Band-Aid has to be on for several days, and you should reapply the liquid from the capsule every few days.  Every time you reapply, cover the tag with another Band-Aid.

It does seem to work for some people, and it definitely won’t harm the skin in any way, but it will take a long time to kill off the tag.

7. Castor Oil & Baking Soda

Making a paste with castor oil and baking soda is said to be a good way to naturally get rid of skin tags.  Some people swear by it.  It does make sense, though, as castor oil is an essential oil.  This means that it has natural skin healing capabilities.  The baking soda works to dry out a skin tag.

Apply this paste mixture to the tag itself, and put an adhesive bandage over it to keep it from coming off as it dries.  The paste will work slowly, but safely.  It is, by no means, a fast treatment as it takes a few months for it to work.

8. Lemon Juice

Lemons are highly acidic.  The people that have used lemon juice for skin tag removal say that it does take time for it to work, but lemons are cheap to buy.  The acid is supposed to eat away at the tag, over time, and when you apply it frequently during the day, the tag will start to lose the blood and oxygen supply that it needs so that it eventually falls off on its own.

While lemon juice is a natural way to get rid of skin tags, we believe that there are much better options.

9. Dandelion Stem Juice

The milk, or juice, that dandelions produce is said to be effective for healing many different skin ailments.  Squeeze the liquid from the stem and apply it directly onto the tag.

You do have to apply it frequently during the day, up to 4 or 5 times.  Clean the juice off of the tag and surrounding each time you apply it, making sure that it is completely dry.  After each application, cover it with an adhesive bandage to make sure that it doesn’t wipe off.

It supposedly works by drying out the tag.  You have to keep using it until the tag completely dries out and falls off, which will take a bit of time.  The length of time, of course, depends on the size of the tag and how many times a day that you apply the liquid.

It is important to note that some people are allergic to dandelions.  If you are allergic to other flowers or weeds like daisies, ragweed, or marigolds, there is a high chance that you will also be allergic to this liquid.

10. Ginger

Some people have used raw ginger to remove skin tags.  It is believed that the ginger has healing properties and is able to remove skin tags.

Make sure that the tag is clean and dry first, and then rub the ginger onto it.  You have to do this multiple times a day, and it may take a few months for the tag to finally fall off.

Because we’re all different, most of these remedies may or may not work for you.  For large skin tags, though, we do recommend using Australian tea tree oil, as this has been used by many people and has effectively dried out the tag, and has healed the skin under it so there is no scarring.

Many of these methods do take a while to work, but this is common for many types of natural remedies.  The most important thing is to use it on a consistent basis, a few times a day.  Covering the tag with an adhesive bandage is a good idea to make sure that the liquid or oil doesn’t get rubbed off accidentally.

We can honestly say that essential oils are the best natural treatment, especially tea tree oil.  It not only has the capability to get rid of the skin tag, or tags, faster, but it heals the skin at the same time.  The healing properties that it contains are numerous, as well as the vitamins and minerals.

When you search for natural skin tag removal methods, you will be bombarded with things that either don’t work, or can be very painful. You just have to be careful which you want to try, and you have to be willing to give it the time it needs to work.

There are, of course, products available that will get rid of them faster, but they contain chemicals.  As with natural remedies, some of those products work better than others, and some do not work at all.  This list was meant to share with you the top 10 ways to lose skin tags naturally. Invest a small amount in Australian tea tree oil, apply it regularly, and give it time to work!
